Did you know...? Did you know that horses, when allowed, can spend 16 to 18 hours a day grazing? This can help to minimize the risk of digestive upset and stereotypies. |
e-Tip of the Week
Many horse owners have trouble deciding whether to pasture their horse or keep them in a stall. The pasture should be considered the best option. When you pasture your horse there are many advantages:
- Lower feed costs.
- More opportunity to exercise.
- Lower incidence of disease, especially respiratory disease.
- Minimize exposure to dust and mold common in barns.
Horse owners should keep in mind that the pasture needs to be properly managed when pasturing their horses.

Horse Quote of the Week
Again the early-morning sun was generous with its warmth. All the sounds dear to a horseman were around me - the snort of the horses as they cleared their throats, the gentle swish of their tails, the tinkle of irons as we flung the saddles over their backs - little sounds of no importance, but they stay in the unconscious library of memory.
