East Lansing, Mich. – For the second year in a row, My Horse University has been nominated for an Equestrian Social Media Award. When the field was narrowed from over 2,000 nominees to ten finalists in each category, My Horse University made it into the category of “Most Informative.”

Christine Skelly, co-founder of My Horse University, says “We are so honored to be an awards finalist, especially in the Most Informative category.  Thanks to all of our great partners like www.eXtension.org/horses  and Equine Network for letting us share their great information with our Facebook fans.”

The final results will be determined by votes from the public and a panel of experts. Voters are asked to consider the criteria of innovation, individual, inspiration, interaction, and information. Voting continues until February 10, 7AM EST and winners will be announced in March. You can cast your vote here: http://www.equestriansocialmediaawards.com/voting

In late 2009, My Horse University began to establish a social media presence on FacebookTwitter and YouTube that quickly grew into a dynamic and interactive online equine community. “It’s an honor to be nominated, but also an honor to work with such an amazing group of educators, experts and horse enthusiasts, who give me great information to share!" says Laura Fisher, My Horse University’s Social Media Specialist.

The PagePlay Equestrian Social Media Awards were established in December 2010 as a way of bringing together the global equestrian community through social media. The finalists represent more than a dozen countries and a range of equestrian sports.

My Horse University is a national online horse management program for horse enthusiasts based at MSU.
