EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Already available to horse enthusiasts around the world, Michigan State University’s online horse management program has crossed a new border.

My Horse University and the Universidad Mayor in Chile have partnered to offer two My Horse University courses in the Spanish language. Horse enthusiasts will now have access to short online learning experiences in Spanish on the topics of breeding mares and understanding equine conformation.

In “Evaluating Conformation: Form to Function,” participants will receive an introduction to the aspects of equine conformation that are essential for selecting a horse for performance or breeding, such as balance, structure and muscling. The “Preparing and Breeding Your Mare” course begins with basic information about the mare’s reproductive anatomy, and then explores the mare’s reproductive cycle, appropriate times to breed and breeding techniques.

These online courses are designed by world-renowned equine experts and offer science-based horse management strategies to horse owners and horse enthusiasts. Upon purchase, participants will have access to a self-paced course for six months. After completing the requirements of the course, participants will receive a certificate of completion. Each short course will take approximately one to two hours to complete.

In addition to course material, participants will have access to an informative webcast given by an expert. Priced at $50 and $25, respectively, these online courses offer valuable information in a convenient, fun and interactive format. To learn more, visit http://www.myhorseuniversity.com/spanish.
