Equitrekking Program on PBS
Equitrekking allows the rider to see the world from the best view point - astride a horse.  As any trail rider can tell you, riding gives you a unique perspective, letting the horse worry about footing while you experience your surroundings.  Horses can take riders places that otherwise would be impassable by vehicles or too steep and far to travel by foot.

To learn more about site-seeing on horseback watch the PBS series Equitrekking.  You can go to
http://www.equitrekking.com/ to find information on your local listings.

Thanks to the Michigan Horse Council for their local sponsorship of the Michigan broadcasts of Equitrekking.  In addition, we appreciate Equus, one of My Horse University's partners for their national sponsorship of the Equitrekking program.
Did you know...?
Did you know that a horse's ear can rotate about 180 degrees? This unique anatomical feature allows horses to focus on the direction of sound. They can isolate the exact direction that a sound is coming from and run the other way.
e-Tip of the Week

When training a horse, keep in mind that it can respond to a command given at a very low volume. We do not need to shout to be heard. Horses are very sensitive to the tone of a voice so use a confident tone and avoid overly emotional tones such as shrill, high pitches.

Horse Quote of the Week

Working Horses
Look back at our struggle for freedom,
Trace our present day's strength to it's source;
And you'll find that man's pathway to glory
Is strewn with the bones of the horse.
