My Horse University

My Horse University was established at Michigan State University to meet the needs of horse enthusiasts who use the Internet for learning and finding information. As the pioneer land-grant university, founded in 1855, Michigan State University has always made horses part of its curriculum.

MSU's equine programs have the distinction of including two endowed chairs: the Mary Anne McPhail Dressage Chair in Equine Sports Medicine, and the Matilda R. Wilson Chair in Large Animal Clinical Sciences.

MSU faculty members in both the Department of Animal Science and the College of Veterinary Medicine are internationally recognized for their work in fields that include nutrition management, genetics, exercise physiology, animal behavior and welfare, and a wide range of specialties focused on every aspect of equine health, development, and performance. MSU's equine scientists are involved in many national and international research and extension efforts. These collaborative efforts allow My Horse University to tap into the expertise of many equine scientists across the globe.

My Horse University brings the research and knowledge of the experts online. Our courses are designed to provide a comprehensive and convenient learning experience to horse enthusiasts around the world.

My Horse University is on the campus of Michigan State University (MSU) and was founded by the MSU Department of Animal Science, MSU Extension and MSU Global.
