Pituitary Pars Intermedia Dysfunction (Equine Cushing’s Disease): Challenges of Diagnosis and Treatmentby Dr. Hal Schott, DVM | Michigan State University Older horses are becoming an increasingly important component of the horse industry. This presentation will describe the clinical problems associated with PPID as well as summarize current knowledge about the cause of PPID in horses. We will also discuss recommended approaches to diagnosis, management, and treatment of affected horses as well as take a look at case examples. Presenter Info: Dr. Schott played polo while growing up in the greater Cincinnati area and then continued to play polo at Cornell University and in Lexington Kentucky during his college and veterinary school years. Life has become too busy to continue this sport but Dr. Schott now enjoys working with his 8-year-old daughter teaching her to ride the best pony in the world “Rusty”. View Presentation Recording
